python-scikits.statsmodels software package provides transitional compatibility package for statsmodels migration, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-scikits.statsmodels
python-scikits.statsmodels is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-scikits.statsmodels package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-scikits.statsmodels *
You will get with python-scikits.statsmodels package name, version, architecture and description in a table
